Maternal and Child Health Nurse Sleep and Settling
As the Sleep and Settling Maternal & Child Health Nurse, you will provide practical, evidence-informed support to parents and carers of infants and young children through group education sessions, outreach visits and individual consultations. Working closely with Maternal and Child Health nurses, community services and other partners, you will help families build confidence, improve sleep and settling routines, access the right support services, and promote positive child and family wellbeing.
You will also coordinate the day-to-day delivery of the program, maintain accurate records and reporting, and ensure services are delivered safely, professionally and in line with child safety, funding and regulatory requirements.
This is a part-time temporary 12-month position (grant funded) (3 days per week) based primarily in rolling hills.
This position has an Hourly rate starting from $58.35 per hour, plus $2.04 per hour Higher Qualifications Allowance, laundry allowance, and 12% superannuation.

Experience and skills we’re looking for
- Registration and qualifications relevant to Maternal and Child Health nursing or a related health profession.
- Experience supporting families with infant and child sleep and settling concerns.
- Knowledge of child development and evidence-informed approaches to sleep and settling support.
- Experience planning and delivering education sessions,
workshops or group programs.
- Ability to assess family needs and provide practical, family-centred advice and support.
- Understanding of child safety, mandatory reporting and referral processes.
- Experience working with vulnerable families and identifying when additional support may be needed.
- Solid communication skills, with the ability to build trust and engage people from diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to work collaboratively with health professionals, community services and other stakeholders.
- Strong organisational and administrative skills, including maintaining accurate records, data collection and reporting.
