AI Portfolio & Engagement Advisor - Brisbane | 12-month Contract
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced AI Portfolio & Engagement Advisor to support the identification, development and prioritisation of Artificial Intelligence opportunities across a large enterprise environment.
This role will act as a key interface between business stakeholders, AI and technology teams, governance functions and senior leadership , helping to translate business challenges and opportunities into well-defined AI initiatives that are aligned to organisational priorities and capable of delivering measurable value.
The successful candidate will bring a strong combination of business engagement, portfolio management, business analysis, digital transformation and governance experience , along with a sound understanding of AI strategy and adoption.
Key Responsibilities
- Build strong relationships with business areas to understand strategic priorities, challenges and opportunities.
- Facilitate discovery workshops, ideation sessions and stakeholder consultations to identify potential AI use cases.
- Advise business stakeholders on AI capabilities, potential delivery pathways and suitable approaches.
- Assess AI opportunities based on strategic alignment, business value, feasibility and organisational readiness.
- Support the development of initiative concepts, value propositions and preliminary business cases.
- Maintain and manage the AI initiatives register, opportunity pipeline and portfolio.
- Monitor initiative progress, dependencies, risks, benefits and delivery status.
- Support portfolio prioritisation, demand management and investment planning.
- Coordinate the progression of AI initiatives through governance, risk and assurance processes.
- Support business areas with FAIRA assessments and other relevant approval requirements.
- Facilitate engagement with security, privacy, architecture, information management, legal and risk stakeholders.
- Support sponsorship, funding, benefits planning, change readiness and adoption activities.
- Prepare executive reports, dashboards, briefing materials and portfolio performance updates.
- Provide insights into AI demand, portfolio trends, delivery progress, benefits and emerging opportunities.
- Contribute to AI Communities of Practice and broader organisational AI capability development.
- Support the ongoing evolution of AI governance, operating models and engagement frameworks.
About You You will be an experienced business, technology or transformation professional with a strong track record of working across complex enterprise environments.
You will ideally have
- Demonstrated experience in business relationship management and stakeholder engagement .
- Experience managing portfolios, pipelines, demand or investment opportunities.
- Strong business analysis and opportunity assessment capability.
- Experience facilitating workshops and working with stakeholders to define business outcomes.
- Experience with digital transformation, innovation or emerging technology initiatives.
- Strong understanding of governance, risk and assurance processes.
- Experience developing business cases, value propositions and benefits plans.
- Excellent executive reporting and communication skills.
- Experience working across multiple business and technology stakeholder groups.
- A strong understanding of AI strategy, adoption and enterprise AI opportunities .
Desirable Experience Experience in the following areas will be highly regarded:
- Enterprise AI or Generative AI programs.
- AI governance and Responsible AI.
- FAIRA or similar AI risk and assurance frameworks.
- Technology or digital investment planning.
- AI operating models and adoption frameworks.
- Establishing AI portfolios, opportunity registers or Communities of Practice.
- Large-scale digital transformation programs.
What You'll Bring You will be a confident communicator and trusted advisor who can operate comfortably between business and technical teams. You will have the ability to take an emerging or loosely defined AI prospect, structure the problem, assess its potential value and guide stakeholders through the appropriate governance and delivery pathway.
Strong stakeholder management, commercial awareness, analytical capability and an ability to communicate complex concepts to senior audiences will be essential.
