GetCareers is currently seeking an enthusiastic candidate to undertake an Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Apprenticeship with a reputable and established local Host Employer based in Bunbury. This is a full-time opportunity to earn while you learn and work toward a nationally recognised qualification – Certificate III in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration.

Employment Type: Full-time (5 days per week, 38 hours per week)

Term of Apprenticeship: 4 years

Pre-Employment Requirements

As part of the recruitment process, successful applicants may be required to complete:

- A pre-employment medical
- Drug and alcohol screening
- Aptitude testing

About the Role

As an Apprentice Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Technician, duties may include:

- Assisting with the installation of air conditioning and refrigeration units on-site
- Running piping, gas, and water lines to ensure units operate efficiently
- Performing maintenance and repairs on existing air conditioning and refrigeration systems
- Testing and fine-tuning units to optimise performance
- Reading and interpreting plans, drawings, and technical specifications
- Preparing and maintaining tools, equipment, and work areas
- Following workplace health and safety procedures on all jobs
- Assisting qualified mechanics on-site as required

- To be technically minded, precise, and enjoy practical, hands-on work
- Robust attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Physically capable of performing hands-on work - you'll be lifting heavy pieces of equipment
- Are reliable, motivated and eager to learn
- Work well in a team and have a positive attitude
- Have a strong commitment to workplace safety
- Completion of a Certificate II in Electrotechnology (Pre-Apprenticeship) is advantageous, but not essential

Eligibility Criteria

- Must be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident
- Reside within reasonable travelling distance of Bunbury
- Hold a valid Australian Drivers Licence (L plates considered)
- Hold a valid White Card (or be willing to obtain one)
- Willingness to undertake and complete a Certificate III in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration
