About Us
Pioneer Village, operated by the Eyre Peninsula Old Folks Home Inc, is located in picturesque Port Lincoln with a wonderful relaxed country lifestyle. We are a community based 66-bed residential aged care facility situated at the southern tip of Eyre Peninsula in Port Lincoln, South Australia. As a primary provider of residential care and dementia services for the aged of the Southern Eyre Peninsula, we provide quality care and services to our clients in a manner that maintains and respects their individuality and dignity.
We are a Public Benevolent Institution so our employees can salary sacrifice up to $15,899 per annum TAX FREE and an entertainment card which is another $2,650 per annum TAX FREE, each FBT year. You must live near or be willing to relocate to Port Lincoln.
The Role
We have an exciting parttime position (2-3 days per week) for a passionate Allied Health Assistant to join our team. Work with the multi-disciplinary team to deliver quality allied health programs for all residents. Provide support to residents in a manner which promotes independence including group exercises and rehabilitation as prescribed by the nurse and allied health team.
Support the broader allied health team on clinic days (i.e. podiatry and audiology). Maintain a safe, clean, and tidy environment for all residents, staff, and visitors. This includes compliance with infection control and other safe work practices.
Your will work on weekdays and the actual days will be by agreement with the Director of Care.

Duties
- Prepare, deliver, set up and assist with individual and group exercise sessions.
- Provide supportive, motivating interactions to encourage resident participation
- - Set up equipment for treatments
- Keep accurate session notes, records and equipment documentation.
- Provide care to elderly residents as per care plan
- Maintain a safe, clean, and tidy environment
- Observe and report changes in resident health and behaviour
- Liaise with medical professionals and nursing staff
- Follow all safety, infection control and risk‑management procedures.
Skills and Experience
- Must have achieved or be working towards Certificate 3-4 Allied Health Assistant qualification.
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Emotional intelligence and ability to work in a team as well as autonomously
- Experience supporting exercise or therapy programs (paid or placement) is desirable.
- Understanding of safe manual handling and infection control practices.
- Ability to work under direction of allied health professionals in a client‑centred environment.
- Clear, confident communication and a positive, proactive attitude toward residents and colleagues.
- Previous aged care work, particularly as an Allied Health Assistant - highly regarded
