Doctors are paid for this time. Accommodation provided and travel up to $800 reimbursed (flights or mileage only). Shifts vary from theatre lists to on-call duties. The roster is versatile and may change on the day depending on operational needs. Daily rates remain consistent regardless of shift type, except for second on-call arrangements. Second on call is not an advertised shift and is an internal arrangement within the Anaesthetic team to provide backup for after-hours emergencies. Contact will only be made by the first on call or their delegate.
Anaesthetists will not be paid the daily rate for being second on call unless they are called in. If called in, the daily rate will be paid upon submission of the reason, MRN, and relevant details in the comments section of the VMoney claim. Agencies are responsible for ensuring doctors are aware of the second on-call structure and conditions.
