Block 5 Consulting is sourcing a Program Support Officer to join the Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR), North Coast Region, working within the Governance and Design team, Stakeholder Management.
This is a great opportunity for an experienced administrative or program support professional who wants variety, ownership, and the chance to make a real contribution to how a busy government team runs.
The role
You'll become the go-to support partner for the Stakeholder Management unit, helping colleagues navigate processes, solve problems, and get things done. Day to day you will:
- Take joint ownership of a shared high-volume inbox, triaging executive correspondence and enquiries and making sure matters are actioned promptly
- Provide responsive administrative and operational support that keeps the team organised and focused on outcomes
- Develop, maintain, and improve systems, databases, reporting tools, and communication channels
- Support governance and compliance activities, including accurate record-keeping
- Compile and coordinate information for reports, dashboards, and updates for senior stakeholders
- Support community engagement activities, including coordination of materials and stakeholder records
- Build strong working relationships across the region and be a trusted point of contact
- Spot opportunities to improve processes and contribute to team-wide projects
What we're looking for
- Experience managing a busy, high-volume inbox with accurate, professional communication across a range of stakeholders
- Solid organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise in a dynamic environment
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality work
- Strong problem-solving skills and a genuine initiative to get on with things
- A customer-focused approach and commitment to helping others succeed
- Experience with administrative, governance, and record-keeping processes, including database maintenance
- Confidence working independently while contributing to a collaborative team
- Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Teams and SharePoint
Highly regarded: experience with process improvement or business efficiency initiatives, and prior exposure to Queensland Government or public sector processes.
The details
- Location: TMR, 50 Wises Road, North Coast Region
- Hours: Up to 38 hours per week, Monday to Friday, within TMR business hours (7am–6pm)
- Working Rights: Must have valid Australian Working Rights for this role
