About the role
We're looking for a recently graduated (or soon-to-graduate) Oral Health Therapist to join our team as part of our structured Graduate Mentorship Program. You'll work alongside experienced clinicians who will guide your clinical development, build your confidence, and help you grow into a well-rounded, independent practitioner.
Key responsibilities
- Providing preventive and therapeutic oral health care to patients across all age groups (paediatric, adolescent, and adult, depending on scope)
- Conducting oral health assessments, cleans, fissure sealants, and fluoride treatments
- Performing scaling, root planing, and removal of calculus, plaque, and stains
- Taking and processing radiographs (X-rays) in line with state radiation safety requirements
- Administering local anaesthetic where within scope of practice and state regulations
- Recording patient medical/dental histories, vital signs, and periodontal and extra/intraoral examinations
- Referring patients to the dentist where conditions fall outside scope of practice
- Delivering oral health education and preventive advice to patients and families
- Assisting the dentist with treatment and dental emergencies as required
- Maintaining, cleaning, sterilising, and checking dental instruments and equipment
About you
- A qualifying or recent degree in Oral Health / Oral Health Therapy (Bachelor of Oral Health or equivalent, accredited by the Australian Dental Council)
- Current or eligible registration as an Oral Health Therapist with the Dental Board of Australia (AHPRA)
- Current CPR certification
- Radiography/X-ray certification in line with state radiation safety licensing requirements
- A genuine passion for patient care and preventive dentistry
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative, team-oriented attitude
- Willingness to learn, ask questions, and grow within a supportive environment
- Commitment to following clinical standards of care and best-practice infection control protocols
- Sound understanding of professional, ethical, and regulatory obligations under the Dental Board of Australia's Code of Conduct
- New graduates are strongly encouraged to apply — no extensive clinical experience required
