About The Company This prospect is with BA Aviation, the aviation arm of Biodiversity Australia based at HMAS Albatross. BA Aviation specialises in delivering tailored consultancy and operational services across aviation environments, including Aerodrome Reporting Officer (ARO) duties, Wildlife Hazard Management, and Airport Environmental Planning.

About The Role We are seeking a dedicated Aerodrome Reporting Officer (ARO) with a passion for aviation safety and wildlife management. Whether you have experience as a Wildlife Biologist, Aerodrome Reporting Officer (ARO), or Wildlife Management Officer (WMO), this role offers an opportunity to develop your skills in a dynamic environment.

Internal training and support will be provided to ensure your success. Although you will commence as a casual employee, this role is intended to transition to a full-time position, subject to performance and business requirements.

Key Responsibilities





- Actively managing wildlife airside to mitigate risks to aviation operations.
- Collecting and maintaining accurate data on wildlife activity and management measures.
- Liaising with clients to provide timely updates and expert advice.
- Upholding high standards of ethics, safety, and operational excellence.

Essential Requirements

- A strong understanding of wildlife behaviour and its implications for aviation safety.
- Experience or confidence with radio communications, ideally VHF (Ground and Tower).
- A General Construction Induction Card (White Card).
- Eligibility to obtain an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC).
- CASA Aeronautical Radio Operator Certificate (AROC) or the ability to obtain one.
- Must be an Australian citizen and subject to a Police check.

Desirable
- Field experience demonstrating situational awareness in airside and aircraft environments.
- Qualifications such as Aerodrome Reporting Officer (ARO) or Work Safety Officer.
- A Firearms Licence (Category A & B) – highly desirable or willing to obtain.
