Contract Type: Fixed Term Contract – 1 year

About The Role

We are currently seeking an Assistant Administrator - Residential to join our Safeguarding department at The Bedford College Group.

As an Assistant Administrator - Residential, you play an important role in the success of our students through:

- Residential Operations Support - Assist with the day-to-day running of halls of residence, including student arrivals and departures, room allocations, inductions, accommodation records, and contract administration.
- Student Welfare &
- Resident Engagement - Act as a key point of contact for residential students, providing guidance, supporting wellbeing initiatives, building community engagement, and escalating welfare concerns appropriately through systems such as CPOMS.
- Accommodation, Facilities &
- Compliance - Coordinate maintenance requests, liaise with contractors and facilities teams, monitor repairs, and conduct routine accommodation inspections to ensure a safe and well-maintained living environment.
- Administration &
- Reporting - Maintain departmental records and databases, organise meetings and documentation, produce management information and reports, and support the delivery of student events and awareness campaigns.
- Safeguarding, EDI &
- Professional Standards - Promote safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusion, and health and safety compliance,



while representing residential services at key college events and participating in ongoing training and development.

About You

- Education &
- IT Proficiency - Good GCSE foundation including English and Maths, with experience using Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Administrative Accuracy &
- Attention to Detail - Strong focus on maintaining accurate records, producing high-quality work, and ensuring attention to detail in all tasks.
- Communication &
- Customer Service Skills - Confident written and verbal communicator with a customer-focused approach to managing internal and external enquiries professionally.
- Adaptability &
- Problem Solving - Willingness to learn current processes, adapt to changing requirements, and take a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
- Professionalism &
- Teamwork - Reliable, punctual and positive, with the ability to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a wider team.
