About the role

We are seeking an Assistant Store Manager to join our team at Agnes Water, QLD. This is a full-time position offering an exciting opportunity to take on a key leadership role within our store operations.

As Assistant Store

Manager, you will support the Store Manager in driving store performance, ensuring excellent customer service, and leading our team to deliver an exceptional shopping experience. This role is crucial to the success of our store and offers genuine prospects for career progression within Agnes Wholefoods.

Key responsibilities

- Oversee daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures, inventory management, and stock rotation
- Lead and motivate the store team, providing coaching, training, and performance feedback to support staff development and engagement
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and food hygiene standards across all store areas
- Manage customer service standards, responding to customer enquiries and resolving complaints professionally and promptly
- Support the implementation of visual merchandising standards and promotional activities to maximise sales and product visibility




- Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering and receiving procedures to ensure product availability
- Contribute to achieving store sales targets and key performance indicators through effective team management and customer engagement
- Take full responsibility for store management during shifts
- Support the development and maintenance of store systems, processes, and documentation

What we're looking for

- Proven experience in a retail supervisory or assistant management role, ideally within a grocery, wholefoods, or health-focused retail environment
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, develop, and manage a team effectively
- Excellent customer service orientation and a proven track record of delivering positive customer experiences
- Solid understanding of retail operations, including point-of-sale systems, stock management, and compliance requirements
- Ability to work flexibly, including weekends and public holidays as required by retail operations
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks
- Knowledge of health and safety standards, particularly within a retail food setting




- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with team members and customers
- A genuine passion for wholefoods, natural products, or healthy living is desirable
- Relevant retail qualifications or management certifications are advantageous but not essential

This is a Tuesday to Saturday roster and you must be available to work ALL Queensland school holidays. This is non negotiable. It is a 37.5 hour week and remuneration is $60,000 plus super.
