About the Role

We are seeking an experienced consulting leader to help build and grow our Defence, Digital and Engineering business. This is a senior, market-facing position for someone with deep Defence experience, established industry relationships and a strong track record of identifying opportunities, winning work and building high-performing teams. You will work closely with Defence clients, Defence Industry stakeholders, senior leadership and specialists across Engineering, Cloud, Security, AI and Technology.

You will help shape strategic opportunities and deliver innovative engineering and technology solutions across complex Defence environments. This is an opportunity to play a central role in developing a nationally significant consulting capability and supporting the modernisation of Australia's Defence ecosystem.

Responsibilities

- Build and grow the organisation’s Defence Digital Engineering practice across Australia
- Develop trusted relationships across Defence, Defence Industry and key government stakeholders
- Identify, qualify and originate new consulting and transformation opportunities
- Lead strategic client conversations and translate complex challenges into compelling solutions
- Develop account strategies, go to market plans and business development pipelines
- Lead major Defence pursuits, proposals, tender responses and commercial negotiations
- Shape complex engineering, digital and technology transformation programs
- Build and mentor high performing teams across engineering, technology and Defence consulting




- Recruit and develop specialist capability aligned with future client requirements
- Partner with specialists across Engineering, Cloud, Security, AI, Data and Technology
- Provide executive oversight across major engagements and ensure successful client outcomes
- Maintain an informed view of Defence priorities, market developments and emerging technologies
- Represent the organisation at senior client meetings, industry forums and strategic Defence engagements

Required Skills

- A solid professional network and established relationships with senior Defence and industry stakeholders
- Demonstrated experience developing business, originating opportunities and contributing to revenue growth
- Experience leading major pursuits, proposals and complex commercial engagements
- Strong executive stakeholder engagement, communication and influencing skills
- Experience shaping and leading complex engineering, technology or business transformation programs
- The ability to connect client challenges with practical engineering and technology solutions
- Strong commercial acumen, including pipeline development, forecasting and account growth
- A track record of building teams, developing people and growing organisational capability
- The ability to operate effectively across multidisciplinary and geographically distributed teams

Experience in one or more of the following areas would be highly regarded:
- Systems Engineering and Model-Based Systems Engineering
- Digital Twins, Digital Threads and Product Lifecycle Management
- Engineering Transformation and Cloud-Enabled Environments
- Enterprise Architecture and Engineering Data Management
- Defence Platforms, Mission Systems and Capability Development
- Integrated Logistics Support and Asset Management
- Artificial Intelligence, Automation and Advanced Analytics
- Aerospace, Maritime, Land, Space and Cyber Programs
