Maroondah City Council is seeking a talented and passionate Business Systems Modernisation Manager to join the Cyber and Technology team.
Maroondah City Council is delivering a strategic organisation-wide transformation through the implementation of an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Program. This is a whole-of-organisation transformation responsibility focused on aligning systems, processes, and people with Council’s strategic objectives.
The Business Systems Transformation Manager will provide dedicated leadership and coordination across all phases of the ERP Program, ensuring business process improvements are embedded and sustained across Council. This role will act as a bridge between system delivery and strategic business outcomes, driving organisational readiness, cross-functional collaboration, regional benchmarking in the system transformation space, and cultural change to support the successful realisation of Council’s transformational goals.
In this role, your key responsibilities will include:
- Provide overarching leadership for cross-functional transformation activities across the ERP Program.
- Manage ERP Implementation Project according to a recognized set of Project Management best practices (e.g., Prince2, PMI).
- Develop Project Plans, Charters, Functional and Technical Requirements, Project tracking schedules, Change Control, Risk Control, and other project monitoring and tracking tools.
- Facilitate process re-engineering workshops and ensure process changes are documented, tested, and embedded into business-as-usual operations.
- Provide ongoing reporting to project sponsors and other stakeholders including routine status reports, flagging project delays, and reporting on impacts to the business.
- Lead a project team of technical and business experts within a weak matrix management model.
- Actively manage vendor relationships, including liaising closely with vendor project manager. Hold the vendor and the vendor’s project team accountable to their deliverables.
- Lead the team to work with service areas to ensure that redesigned processes deliver measurable efficiency and service benefits.
- Lead organisational readiness planning and implementation to prepare Council for upcoming ERP phases.
- Assisting and leading transformation initiatives that can be delivered collaboratively with other Councils, particularly the Eastern Region Group of Councils, by identifying and delivering on shared service/procurement opportunities.
- Oversee technology deliverables, including software implementation, Quality Assurance testing, and configuration of integrations leveraging technology subject matter experts.
- Oversee business deliverables, including process mapping, implementing current and new processes, training delivery, and User Acceptance testing leveraging business subject matter experts.
