My client finds itself operating in the Australian steel industry with a long-standing reputation for reliability, service excellence, and industry expertise. Supplying customers across construction, engineering, infrastructure, transport, manufacturing, and fabrication, they have become a trusted partner to businesses that depend on quality products and responsive support.
Due to continued growth, an opportunity now exists for an ambitious sales professional to join the Sydney team and take ownership of a well-established territory with significant potential for further expansion.
The Opportunity
This is far more than a traditional sales position.
You'll be responsible for developing long-term partnerships with fabricators, contractors, engineers, project managers, manufacturers, and industrial customers throughout NSW. While relationship management is a key part of the role, you'll also have the freedom and support to identify new opportunities, win additional business, and expand market share within a high-demand sector.
You'll work alongside experienced industry professionals who understand the market, value initiative, and give their people the autonomy to succeed.
What You'll Be Doing
- Managing and growing an established customer portfolio
- Building strong relationships with key decision-makers across multiple industries
- Identifying recent business opportunities and converting them into long-term accounts
- Providing customers with tailored steel solutions to support project requirements
- Collaborating with internal teams to ensure exceptional service delivery
- Maintaining regular face-to-face customer engagement across the Adelaide market
- Driving revenue growth through proactive account development
What We're Looking For
- Previous external sales, account management, or business development experience
- Experience within steel, metal products, construction materials, industrial products, engineering supplies, or a related sector
- Strong relationship-building and communication skills
- A proactive and commercially driven mindset
- The ability to manage multiple customer relationships and identify growth opportunities
- A genuine desire to build a long-term career within a successful business
Salary and Benefits Base $110-$120k | 12% Super | Car Allowance | Commission
