Business Support Officer – Digital and Technology Services

- Salary Range Band 5 $84,826 - $97,810 (pro rata) plus 12% Super

- Part-time (3 days), 12-month temporary position

- Located at St Kilda Town Hall with flexible working arrangements possible.

About the Organisation The City of Port Phillip is an inner-city council with around 1000 employees who deliver more than 100 programs and services to our residents, businesses and visitors. These range from childcare and immunisations, to libraries, management of parks and open space, rubbish collection, road maintenance and more. About the Role

As the key business support specialist within the DTS department, you will take ownership of purchasing, contract administration, invoice management, and financial processes. You will be the go-to person for ensuring our technology procurement activities are compliant, efficient, and well managed.

Working closely with the Chief Information Officer, DTS leadership team, Finance, Procurement, vendors, and internal stakeholders, you'll help maintain solid governance while supporting a dynamic and innovative technology environment. Duties:

- Managing technology-related purchasing, requisitions, purchase orders, and invoice processing.

- Supporting contract administration and monitoring through Council’s Procurement and Contract Management System, OneCouncil.

- Ensuring timely and compliant payments to technology vendors.

- Providing guidance and support to staff on procurement and purchasing processes.

- Maintaining strong procurement practices that align with Council policy and minimise risk.

Skills and Experience





- Experience in administration within a corporate, government, or professional environment.

- Strong financial systems skills and confidence working with invoices, purchase orders, and procurement processes.

- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage deadlines independently.

- Strong written and verbal communication skills.

- The ability to build trusted relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.

- Experience using TechnologyOne OneCouncil or similar enterprise systems (highly regarded but not essential).
