Kadota is seeking passionate and reliable chefs to join our team in Daylesford, Victoria, with opportunities available at both Kadota Restaurant and our new Japanese takeaway sushi shop.

At Kadota, we are looking for a Demi Chef, Commis Chef or Apprentice Chef with a great attitude, strong work ethic and genuine interest in developing their skills in a qualified kitchen.

For our Japanese takeaway sushi shop, we are looking for an experienced Chef capable of working independently. The shop will serve simple Japanese food including sushi, rice dishes and noodles, prepared with care and consistency. It will operate five days per week.

What you'll be doing

- Preparing and cooking food to a high and consistent standard
- Managing daily prep and maintaining an organised, clean kitchen
- Following food safety and hygiene requirements
- Monitoring stock and assisting with ordering
- Working efficiently during busy service periods
- Communicating well with the kitchen and front-of-house team

For the sushi shop role, you will need to confidently manage your own preparation, ordering and day-to-day kitchen organisation.

Fine-dining experience is not essential for the Kadota role. We are looking for someone who wants to learn and contribute to the team. For the sushi shop, professional kitchen experience is required. Japanese or sushi experience is highly regarded but not essential.
