Little Patch Early Learning is excited to announce the grand opening of our brand recent, state-of-the-art childcare centre and kindergarten in October 2026.
We are seeking an experienced and passionate cook to join our team and oversee all aspects of the kitchen including menu development and review, meal preparation (including individual dietary requirements) and hygiene and food safety practices that align with a Class 1 kitchen.

We believe a cook plays a significant role in supporting children's development by delivering nutritional and age-appropriate meals along with fostering and role-modeling healthy eating practices.
Our state-of-the-art kitchen is centrally located to ensure the cook can engage with the team, families and the children on a daily basis.
About the Role:
- Plan, prepare and cook meals and snacks for children ranging in ages from infants through to kinder aged children.
- Manage and prepare meals for children with food allergies and dietary restrictions.
- Manage the documentation requirements of Class 1 kitchen
- Sourcing and ordering sufficient quantities and ingredients to support the current menu.
- Maintain a rotating menu and review seasonally.
- Uphold the highest of standards regarding food hygiene and safety.
- Participate in mandatory Independent and Council audits, as required.
- Maintain accurate records of ingredients, stock levels and expiry dates, and manage inventory effectively
- Support the Service's commitment to sustainability and environmental awareness.
- Communicate with educators, families and management regarding dietary matters and nutritional planning
Successful Candidates Will Have:
- A relevant qualification in commercial cooking and food safety
- Demonstrated experience in a childcare or similar environment
- Experience in meal planning and preparation for large numbers.
- A thorough understanding of allergy management and experience managing dietary restrictions
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Excellent hygiene and food safety practices, with meticulous attention to detail
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team
- A genuine passion for promoting and role modeling healthy eating
- A Current Working with Children Check and Police Check
