The opportunity

Contract: 1 year, with potential to extend

Hybrid, Melbourne

We're looking for a senior Solution Architect to own end-to-end architecture design for an on-premises application platform. You'll work closely with technical and business stakeholders to translate requirements into fit‑for‑purpose designs — spanning infrastructure, integration and application layers — and stay engaged through delivery to keep design decisions on track.

What you'll do

- Work with stakeholders to clarify business and technical requirements, and shape these into end-to-end architecture designs
- Lead infrastructure and integration solution design, developing design artefacts aligned to architecture standards and technology roadmaps
- Guide design decisions and issue resolution through the design and delivery phases
- Assess new initiatives for technical and commercial impact, and contribute to technology strategy for key platforms
- Identify risks early and build mitigation plans; escape issues that threaten delivery




- Balance multiple concurrent projects and shifting priorities

What you'll bring

- Extensive experience in end-to-end architecture design, ideally across infrastructure, network and virtualisation domains (Windows/Linux, Cisco, VMware or equivalent)
- Storage and backup architecture experience (SAN, NAS, iSCSI, Fibre Channel, disaster recovery)
- Working knowledge of containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes/OpenShift) and integration architecture (REST APIs, Kafka or similar)
- Observability tooling experience (Grafana, Prometheus, Splunk or similar)
- Comfortable working across security fundamentals (Zero Trust, IAM, MFA) and data architecture principles
- Strong stakeholder management — executive communication, workshop facilitation, and the ability to influence without formal authority
- A cooperative approach to risk assessment, options analysis and technology decision-making
