About the Role

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Clinical Director will be a trusted sector expert whose role will be to strengthen clinical governance, evidence-based practice and continuous improvement across Youth Focus services. This role will support the development and enablement of accessible models of care informed by best practice and population needs to reduce barriers. Key responsibilities include:

- Partner with our Service Excellence Manager and Service Managers to lead and advise on the development, implementation and review of Models of Care across a range of services, ensuring enhanced service capability and responsiveness
- Design, build and elevate the Organisation's Quality, Safety and Clinical Governance (QSCG) framework, ensuring consistent, high-quality and accountable clinical practice
- Provide clinical leadership over the maturity and continuous improvement of organisation-wide clinical quality, risk, incident, complaint, audit and outcome monitoring systems, ensuring insights are translated into strengthened practice, service redesign and measurable improvement
- Partner with clinical leaders and develop MDT capability through supervision, reflective practice, consultation, professional development, scope of practice guidance and interdisciplinary learning that support consistent, high-quality care
- Advocate for integrated and coordinated care across service interfaces, particularly for young people with moderate and complex needs
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders,



including clinical and operational leaders, GPs, psychiatrists, hospitals, public mental health services, Primary Health Networks, schools and other agencies
- Provide oversight and assurance of fidelity to established models of care, service frameworks, and integrated care approaches
- Champion an organisation-wide impact and evaluation strategy that demonstrates service effectiveness, tests emerging care models, and positions the organisation as a leader in evidence-informed youth mental health care
- Drive the adoption of emerging evidence into innovative, digital and blended models of care where safe, appropriate and responsive to need

About You

To be considered for this position, applicants will have:

- Relevant tertiary qualifications (Social Work, Psychology, OT, Mental Health Nursing) and current full registration/membership with AASW or AHPRA
- Extensive senior clinical leadership experience in youth mental health, child and adolescent mental health, community mental health or integrated primary mental health services
- Demonstrated expertise in clinical governance, risk mitigation and management, quality improvement and evidence-based practice
- Demonstrated experience leading multidisciplinary teams and integrated service models involving counselling, medical, psychiatric and allied health disciplines
- Demonstrated ability to build strong partnerships, engage diverse stakeholders and collaborate across systems
- Demonstrated commitment to youth participation, family-inclusive care, cultural safety and trauma-informed practice
- Sound understanding of the Mental Health Act and Standards within relevant and applicable regulatory requirements
- Excellent conceptual and analytical skills, with a capacity to think strategically and operationally
- 'C' Class driver's licence and willingness to travel as required
