About the role

This is a hands-on and varied role involving CNC programming, machine setup and operation, tooling and process improvement. The majority of work is CNC turning, with additional milling, prototype and development work. Working closely with the Engineering team, you will be involved in manufacturing new and existing components and developing efficient machining processes.

Key responsibilities

- Program, set and operate CNC machines.

- Develop and optimise CAM programs and machining processes.

- Manufacture components to required tolerances and quality standards.

- Optimise tooling, feeds and speeds for efficiency, tool life and accuracy.

- Manage CNC tooling, including tool selection, tool libraries and purchasing.

- Troubleshoot machining and process issues.

- Carry out routine machine maintenance.

- Work with the Engineering team on prototype, development and production projects.

About you

- Experience programming, setting and operating CNC machinery.

- Strong CNC turning experience; the majority of work is lathe-based.

- CNC milling experience or a willingness to further develop your milling skills.

- Experience with 3D CAD/CAM software, preferably Autodesk Inventor, Inventor CAM or Fusion 360.

- Experience machining a range of materials, including carbon steels,



4140, 4340, 316 stainless steel, aluminium and engineering plastics.

- Experience machining duplex or super duplex stainless steels, particularly 2205 and 2507, will be highly regarded.

- A strong understanding of tooling, cutting parameters and machining optimisation.

- Good mechanical aptitude, problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

- The ability to work independently while communicating effectively as part of a team.
