About the role

We are seeking a customer-focused and detail-oriented Collections Officer to join our Recoveries team and support the management of Asset Finance accounts across a range of recovery and collections activities.

This role offers the opportunity to work across a broad range of customer interactions, account maintenance and collections processes, helping customers find appropriate solutions while supporting positive business outcomes. You'll liaise with borrowers, agents, solicitors and internal stakeholders, ensuring accounts are managed efficiently, professionally and in line with regulatory requirements.

It's an ideal opportunity for a collections, customer service or recoveries professional who enjoys a fast-paced environment, is highly organised, and is confident balancing administration, stakeholder management and customer conversations.

Key responsibilities

Reporting into the Team Leader, Recoveries, your responsibilities will include:

- Managing collections and recovery activities for Asset Finance accounts
- Contacting customers to discuss arrears, payment arrangements,



hardship options and account resolutions
- Processing hardship applications and associated customer communications
- Preparing and issuing collection notices, default instructions and arrears correspondence
- Liaising with borrowers, solicitors, mercantile agents and other third-party providers
- Managing inbound account enquiries and responding to customer requests via phone and email
- Processing account maintenance activities including direct debit changes, variations and account updates
- Following up customers for outstanding documentation, hardship information, insurance claims and settlement requirements
- Maintaining accurate records and data entry across relevant systems
- Supporting account administration activities and invoice processing
- Ensuring all customer interactions are conducted in accordance with company policies, legislative requirements and service standards

About you To be successful in this role, you will bring:

- Previous experience in collections, recoveries, customer service or financial services administration
- Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to engage professionally with customers and stakeholders
- Excellent attention to detail and a highly organised approach to managing workloads
- The ability to work effectively in a high-volume, fast-paced environment




- Strong customer service skills with a compassionate and empathetic approach
- Sound problem-solving and analytical abilities
- Confidence managing multiple priorities while meeting deadlines
- Strong computer literacy and intermediate Microsoft Excel skills
- Experience within a call centre, collections or lending environment will be highly regarded
- Knowledge of consumer credit legislation, hardship requirements or privacy obligations will be advantageous
