We’re supporting a major Defence organisation delivering complex naval combat systems and warfare capability across long‑term sustainment and upgrade programs.
This role sits within a highly experienced combat systems team supporting front‑line naval platforms, with a strong focus on systems integration, lifecycle support, and technical stewardship rather than detailed design.

- Supporting the integration of combat systems into naval platforms
- Managing configuration change, obsolescence, and capability upgrades
- Reviewing and validating technical artefacts and design outputs
- Conducting problem investigations, defect analysis, and technical risk assessments
- Providing technical authority within a governed engineering framework
- Contributing to verification, validation, and acceptance activities
- Engaging directly with Commonwealth and Defence stakeholders
The focus is operational systems, integration, and sustainment in a naval environment.
About You
You will bring strong defence systems engineering experience, ideally gained within a naval or maritime context. Key background requirements:
- Demonstrated experience with naval combat or warfare systems
- Exposure to systems such as weapons, sensors, radar, ordnance, or missile systems
- Strong understanding of how combat systems integrate with ship platforms
- Experience supporting capability upgrades and in‑service platforms
- Confidence working within regulated defence engineering environments
- Strong stakeholder and project engagement skills
Applicants with an ex‑Navy weapons engineering background are highly regarded, however experienced defence engineers from industry with deep warfare systems exposure are also encouraged to apply.
