Commercial Manager - Renewables IPP

Salary : Up to 220,000 + Super + 15% Bonus

Role overview A hands-on commercial role with a leading Australian renewables business, responsible for the procurement and contracting of renewable energy projects through to financial close and the start of construction. The role covers major equipment supply and installation, civil and electrical balance of plant and grid connection works, with effective tendering and strong supplier and contractor relationships central to success.

You will lead the negotiation of the key project agreements, including construction contracts (EPC, S&I;, BOP), operations and maintenance contracts (WOM, LTSA, AMAD) and grid connection agreements, through to contract execution, Financial Close and the commencement of construction.

Key accountabilities

- Pre-tendering: Engage and prequalify OEMs and BOP contractors and build relationships with TNSPs to establish grid connection options and indicative costs.
- Tendering: Manage EOI, RFP and ITT processes across equipment supply, balance of plant and O&M; scopes, and lead structured review of tender submissions.
- Contracts negotiation: Negotiate and execute PWAs,



Early Works Agreements and long-form contracts with OEMs, BOP contractors and TNSPs, managing the closing team and external legal advisors through to execution.
- Financial Close: Support lender due diligence, complete outstanding contract schedules, and prepare board packs for the final investment decision.
- HSE and Financial Management: Ensure HSE and cost control policies are reflected in tendering and negotiations, with a focus on achieving best value.

Skills and experience

- Graduate degree in Engineering, Finance or a related field
- Experience in procurement and contracting for renewable energy projects, gained with a developer, utility, OEM, EPC or construction contractor
- Direct responsibility for tendering, negotiating and agreeing key project contracts for NEM connected Australian renewable projects
- Sound knowledge of relevant Australian standards and regulation
- Able to manage multiple tendering, negotiation and financial close processes at once with strong document control
- Must have full work rights, there is no chance for sponsorship
