- Full-time opportunity with a 35-hour week, rostered days off and access to Fitness Passport.
- Salary from $94,498.43 - $101,872.29 plus 12% Superannuation.

Willoughby City Council is seeking an experienced and creative Communications Coordinator to lead the delivery of high-quality communications that connect our community with library services, programs, collections and events.
Reporting to the Libraries Manager, this role is responsible for overseeing communications across a range of digital and traditional media channels, supporting the Library Strategy and business plans, and ensuring consistent and engaging messaging for library members, visitors and stakeholders. The successful candidate will also lead a small team and foster a collaborative, high-performing and customer-focused culture

About the Role
As the Communications Coordinator, you will:
- Lead the Library Communications Team, including performance management and staff development.
- Manage the Communications Team budget and cost centre responsibilities.
- Develop and deliver communication plans across library services, collections, local history projects, programs and service improvements.
- Maintain, improve and update the library website in collaboration with Council's Digital Team.
- Manage library communication channels including newsletters, social media, digital screens, email communications and the library app.
- Oversee library surveys, data collection and communication reporting activities.
- Collaborate closely with Council's Communications Team to ensure corporate alignment and consistency of messaging.
- Support the professional presentation of Chatswood Library, branch libraries and outreach activities.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of Library strategic and business plans.
- Provide supervisory support at library service points when rostered.
- Promote a strong commitment to customer service, continuous improvement and workplace safety.
- Undertake additional projects and responsibilities as directed.
What You’ll Bring:
Essential
- Tertiary qualifications in Library and Information Science that allow professional membership of the Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA), or equivalent qualifications and experience.
- Current Working with Children Check.
- First Aid qualification or willingness to obtain.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and lead a team to deliver successful outcomes and projects.
- Experience developing and implementing communication plans for a variety of audiences.
- Strong written, visual and verbal communication skills across multiple media platforms.
- Understanding of website content management systems and confidence using digital communication platforms.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and competing deadlines.
- Commitment to quality customer service and continuous improvement.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment and independently when required.
- Understanding of contemporary library services.
- Commitment to Work Health and Safety and Equal Employment Chance principles.
Desirable
- Experience working within Local Government, State Government or a similar environment.
