Are you an avid tabletop gamer, passionate about supporting other to grow, thrive and reach their goals? Valiant Support is an innovative support provider specialising in skill and independence building supports for neurodivergent individuals. We’re looking for strong mentors who lead by example, and can think on their feet to overcome barriers and promote growth and wellbeing through gaming.

About the Role In this role, you will use uses tabletop and hobby games as a structured way to build social confidence, teamwork, problem-solving and emotional regulation. Your goal is to work together with a variety of individuals to foster sustainable community participation and ongoing connections.

Community Games support workers must have working knowledge of the following games:

- Dungeons and Dragons 5e (2014), including experience as a Dungeon Master.
- Warhammer 40k and/or Age of Sigmar.
- Magic the Gathering (Commander), or willingness to learn.
- A selection of popular boardgames, or willingness to learn.

Key Responsibilities

- Identify suitable play venues considering factors such as accessibility and sensory needs
- Navigate social media and online platforms to recruit suitable community members for gaming groups
- Build and maintain positive relationships with venues
- Facilitate gameplay and community interaction
- Use your knowledge of and experience in the core four game types to support participants to work towards their goals
- Remain focused on participant safety, goals and support needs during gameplay
- Build rapport and collaborate with a wide range of individuals, including those with different beliefs or backgrounds
- Maintain clear professional boundaries at all times with both participants and members of the community
- Problem solve and resolve conflict independently, and escalate as needed




- Clearly and concisely document support delivered in shift notes and other required reports

About you We encourage applications from those new to the industry or with minimal experience who are eager to grow and learn. These roles suit someone who is reliable, organised, and enjoys building meaningful relationships - strong mentors and role models with a passion for helping others overcome barriers, build capacity and achieve goals.

Essential Requirements

- Minimum 15 hours hrs per week of evening availability (3 weeknights from 5-11pm).
- Availability on peak evenings (Thursday and Fridays).
- A valid Driver's License and Comprehensive Car Insurance
- Access to a clean, reliable motor vehicle with working air conditioning
- Be a safe, confident and responsible driver who follows all road rules and regulations
- Working knowledge of the core four games: Dungeons and Dragons, Magic: The Gathering, Warhammer, and Boardgames
- Understanding of neurodiversity and positive values regarding people with disabilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Current Blue Card or willingness to obtain a Blue Card.
- Current First Aid and CPR certificate or willingness to obtain.
