About the role
This North Sydney, office based role is a hands-on business-partnering position, where you will work collaboratively across all functions to embed ethics and compliance into everything we do. Your success will be measured not by policing, but by your ability to build trust, influence, and drive meaningful compliance outcomes through genuine partnerships.
Key responsibilities
- Partnering across the business to embed foundational compliance program elements into local governance, decision-making forums, operational processes, and training initiatives
- Establishing and maintaining clear, robust controls that address both current and emerging risk areas, communicating not just what, but how and why
- Developing and executing monitoring plans, conducting root cause analyses, and designing corrective and preventive actions with cross-functional teams
- Providing compliance guidance on new business development and partnership initiatives, applying strong commercial acumen to integrate ethics into business decisions at all levels
- Leveraging technology, automation, and external best practices to simplify and enhance Business Ethics & Compliance capabilities
- Representing Novo Nordisk in local industry associations and championing the growth of Business Ethics & Compliance across the organisation
- Ensuring all business processes align with Novo Nordisk policies and applicable ANZ regulatory standards, maintaining constant audit readiness
About you
- 5+ years' experience preferably within pharmaceutical, biotech, or healthcare,
with solid knowledge of local Australian and New Zealand laws, regulations, and industry codes
- Proven ability to influence without authority, earning trust through collaboration and credibility across complex, multi-layered organisations
- Cross-functional experience and appreciation for how different business areas operate and connect
- Comfort with technology, automation, and AI-enabled tools, including experience contributing to, or leading digital transformation initiatives
- A relevant Bachelor's degree (or higher)
- Strong strategic and critical thinking skills, with the ability to bring clarity to ambiguity and translate complexity into meaningful, practical steps
- Australian citizen or permanent resident (mandatory)
