The Role

We have an exciting part-time position (2 days per week)



for a passionate nurse (Enrolled Nurse or Registered Nurse) to join our team.

The successful nurse will be responsible for continence consultations and assessments with Residents to determine the appropriate preventative and supportive measures for their continence needs, developing their continence care plans, and coordinating continence aid supply and distribution for the Home.

The successful nurse would work with carers, other nursing staff and the broader health team to deliver a continence plan for each resident.

All staff must ensure compliance with infection control and other safe work practices.

You will work on weekdays, and the actual days will be by agreement with the Director of Care. However, as a qualified nurse you may be offered additional shifts if you desire additional hours.

Duties

- Perform continence consultations and assessments with Residents to determine preventative and supportive measures for their continence needs and continence care plans
- Coordination of continence aid supply and distribution.




- Ensure that continence aids are provided for residents in a manner consistent with the product recommendations and the resident’s care plan
- Ordering continence supplies with the Home’s preferred supplier.
- Provide supportive, motivating interactions with each resident
- Maintain a safe, clean, and tidy environment
- Observe and report changes in resident health and behaviours
- Liaise with medical professionals and nursing staff
- Follow all safety, infection control and risk-management procedures.

Skills and Experience

- Must be registered with AHPRA as an Enrolled Nurse (EN) or Registered Nurse (RN).
- Positive written and verbal communication skills
- Emotional intelligence and ability to work in a team as well as autonomously
- Experience performing a similar role is highly desirable.
- Excellent understanding of safe manual handling and infection control practices.
- Demonstrated willingness and ability to work in a client-centered manner.
- Clear, confident communication and a positive, proactive attitude toward residents and colleagues.
- Previous aged care work experience is highly desirable.
