Basis of Employment: Full-time (38 hours per week)

Location of workplace: 2/5-21 Genge St, Canberra ACT 2600

Salary: $80,000 to $85,000 + 12% Superannuation

Blu Ginger is an iconic fine dining restaurant located in Canberra serving Indian cuisine and are looking for 2 Full-time Cooks to work 38 hours per week.

To be considered for the role the candidate will need to have a minimum of 2 years' full-time work experience preferably in Indian cuisine.

The ideal candidate must think innovatively and can work in a team.

Duties & Responsibilities:

- Preparing, seasoning, and cooking food according to the menu and recipes provided.
- Checking the quality and freshness of ingredients before use.
- Season food, sauces and gravies during cooking.
- Following recipes, portion control, and presentation requirements.
- Assisting with daily food preparation tasks.
- Ensuring meals are prepared in a timely manner during busy service periods.
- Monitoring food stock levels and assisting with ordering supplies when required.
- Storing food correctly in line with food safety and hygiene standards.
- Cleaning kitchen equipment, work areas, and cooking utensils.




- Following workplace health and safety procedures at all times.
- Working cooperatively with chefs, kitchen staff, and front-of-house staff.
- Minimising food wastage and maintaining cost-effective kitchen practices.
- Ensuring all food is prepared safely and complies with relevant hygiene regulations.

Qualifications required for the role:

- Minimum of Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or relevant qualification.

Skills and other requirements for the position:

- Have a minimum of 2 years' full-time work experience as a cook.
- Excellent presentation and communication skills.
- Have knowledge of Food Handling and Food Safety procedures.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Awareness of food safety and hygiene standards.
