Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Data Architect with strong expertise in Databricks, Azure Data Factory (ADF), Python, SQL, and Apache Spark. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing scalable, secure, and high-performance data architecture and solutions across cloud data platforms.

Key Responsibilities

- Design and implement scalable enterprise data architecture and data platforms.
- Define data models, architecture standards, integration patterns, and best practices.
- Design modern data solutions using Databricks, Azure Data Factory, and Spark.
- Provide technical leadership for data engineering and analytics initiatives.
- Design ETL/ELT pipelines, data lakes, data warehouses, and lakehouse architectures.
- Work closely with business stakeholders, data engineers, analysts, and solution architects.
- Ensure data quality, security, governance, lineage, and compliance.
- Optimize data platforms for performance, scalability, and cost.
- Review technical designs and guide development teams on architecture decisions.




- Troubleshoot complex data architecture and integration challenges.

Required Skills

- 6–10 years of experience in Data Architecture / Data Engineering.
- Strong hands-on experience with Databricks and Apache Spark.
- Strong knowledge of Azure Data Factory (ADF).
- Excellent SQL and Python skills.
- Experience designing Azure-based data platforms.
- Strong understanding of Data Lake, Data Warehouse, and Lakehouse architecture.
- Experience with data modelling, ETL/ELT, data integration, and performance optimization.
- Knowledge of data governance, security, metadata, and data quality frameworks.
- Strong communication, stakeholder management, and technical leadership skills.

Positive to Have

- Experience with Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS) and Delta Lake.
- Knowledge of Azure Synapse Analytics.
- Experience with CI/CD, Git, and Azure DevOps.
- Understanding of Medallion Architecture and modern cloud data platforms.
- Relevant Azure/Databricks certifications.

Pay: $1,000.00 – $1,200.00 per day

Work Location: Hybrid remote in Melbourne VIC
