What I do know is this: I’m looking for someone who can look a client in the eye and give them confidence you’ll take a big chunk of their data headaches away. Sounds easy, right? Well… maybe.
If you’ve got strong Azure experience and you’re genuinely handy with Databricks, you’re already well down the path.
A few other things that tend to help:
- Strong experience across cloud-based (and ideally some on-prem / hybrid) data environments
- Building end-to-end data solutions across structured / semi-structured / unstructured data
- Understanding data pipelines from batch through to near real-time
- Release management and CI/CD (including Git)
- Comfortable working with stakeholders (not just hiding in notebooks)
