We're partnering with a highly regarded Australian organisation to recruit an experienced Company Secretary to join a collaborative Governance team. This is an chance to work closely with the Board, Executive Leadership Team and key stakeholders, ensuring best practice governance while contributing to a business with a genuine community focus.
This role offers exposure to a broad range of governance activities in a complex, regulated environment, with the opportunity to influence continuous improvement and support strategic decision-making at the highest level.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the Head of Governance, you'll be responsible for delivering high-quality company secretarial services across the organisation, including Board and Committee support, governance advice and statutory compliance.
Key responsibilities include
- Providing end-to-end secretariat support for Board and Committee meetings, including agendas, papers, minutes and action tracking.
- Advising directors and senior stakeholders on governance obligations and best practice.
- Maintaining statutory registers and ensuring compliance with legislative and regulatory requirements.
- Supporting Board and Committee evaluations,
annual governance planning and policy reviews.
- Coordinating governance reporting and maintaining governance frameworks.
- Working closely with Legal, Risk and Executive stakeholders on governance initiatives and strategic projects.
- Driving continuous improvement across governance processes, systems and reporting.
About You You'll be an experienced Company Secretary or governance professional who enjoys partnering with senior stakeholders and thrives in a collaborative environment.
You'll bring:
- Previous experience in a Company Secretary or Assistant Company Secretary role.
- Strong knowledge of corporate governance principles and Board processes.
- Experience supporting Boards and Committees within a regulated or complex organisation.
- Excellent minute-taking, written communication and stakeholder management skills.
- High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- A proactive approach with a continuous improvement mindset.
- Relevant governance, legal or corporate qualifications will be highly regarded.
