Take ownership of marketing from strategy through to execution
Boost Design is looking for a hands-on Digital Marketing & Content Manager to plan, create and deliver engaging content across our digital channels.
This is not a role where you simply coordinate agencies or schedule content supplied by others. You will take ownership of our marketing activities—from developing the strategy and content calendar through to writing, filming, editing, publishing and measuring results.
You’ll work closely with our CEO, technical team and Business Development Manager to turn our knowledge, projects and success stories into content that builds awareness, establishes authority and generates qualified sales enquiries.
The role also provides secondary business-development support. While marketing remains the primary focus, you will need to be comfortable speaking with prospective clients, qualifying enquiries ,developing sales proposals, and keeping opportunities moving, in support of our Business Development function.
About Boost Design
Boost Design is a multidisciplinary product development company that helps inventors, startups and established businesses turn product ideas into commercially successful products.
Our team of approximately 25 people brings together industrial design, mechanical engineering, electronics, firmware and software development. We work across a wide variety of projects, including consumer, industrial and medical products.
We already have a strong foundation, including an established website, active social channels, an extensive portfolio of projects and case studies. We are now looking for someone to take ownership, bring greater structure, consistency, quality control, and creative energy to our marketing.
Key responsibilities
Marketing strategy and planning
- Develop and implement a practical digital marketing strategy aligned with the company’s business objectives.
- Create and manage an integrated marketing and content calendar.
- Plan campaigns across social media, email, website and other relevant channels.
- Identify content opportunities from current projects, industry developments and recurring client questions.
- Maintain a consistent brand voice and visual presentation across all communications.
- Manage marketing priorities, deadlines and budgets.
Content creation
- Develop articles, video scripts, case studies, project stories, newsletters, social posts and campaign material.
- Coordinate team members and clients to capture technical knowledge and compelling stories.
- Film and photograph projects, prototypes, people and company activities.
- Edit short-form and longer-form video content for LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and YouTube.
- Produce professional graphics, presentations and other visual marketing material.
- Adapt core content into multiple formats for different channels and audiences.
- Coordinate specialist photographers, videographers, designers or other external resources when required.
Publishing and channel management
- Schedule and publish content across Boost Design’s digital channels.
- Manage website content and coordinate website updates.
- Build and distribute email campaigns and automated nurture sequences.
- Monitor engagement and respond to appropriate comments and messages.
- Maintain organised libraries of images, videos, templates and marketing assets.
- Ensure content is accurate, polished and published consistently.
Performance and optimisation
- Monitor website traffic, campaign engagement, enquiries and lead quality.
- Produce concise reports showing performance against agreed objectives.
- Identify which topics and channels are producing meaningful commercial results.
- Test and improve content, calls to action, landing pages and campaigns.
- Work with the Business Development Manager to connect marketing activity with pipeline and revenue.
- Recommend improvements based on evidence rather than vanity metrics alone.
Business development support
- Monitor incoming enquiries and respond promptly and professionally.
- Conduct initial lead qualification using established criteria and processes.
- Arrange discovery meetings and coordinate follow-up actions.
- Maintain accurate CRM records, pipeline notes and next steps.
- Follow up prospective clients and keep active opportunities moving.
- Prepare standard capability information, presentations and proposal material.
- Coordinate technical scoping, pricing, negotiation and commercial decisions with the senior team.
About you
You are a capable marketing generalist who enjoys both thinking and doing. You can develop a strategy,
but you are equally comfortable writing a video script, picking up a camera, editing a video, designing eye-catching graphical content, writing an article, editing a website, or publishing a campaign yourself.
You are curious and able to understand technical subjects, identify the story within them and explain complex ideas in a clear and engaging way. You do not need to be an engineer, but you should be genuinely interested in innovation, technology, design and new product development.
You are also confident speaking with prospective clients. You can ask sensible questions, understand their needs and represent the company professionally without making commitments outside your authority.
Skills and experience The ideal candidate will have the following experience:
- Demonstrated experience in digital marketing, content marketing or a comparable hands-on role.
- Strong written communication, copywriting, grammar, and editing skills.
- Practical experience producing and editing video content.
- Competence creating polished graphics and visual content.
- Experience managing social media and content scheduling platforms.
- Experience with email marketing and campaign automation.
- Working knowledge of content management systems and website publishing.
- Ability to interpret analytics and translate results into practical improvements.
- Robust planning, organisation and project-management skills.
- Confidence communicating with clients and internal technical specialists.
- Outstanding communications in the English language, both written and verbally.
- Experience using CRM systems and supporting lead-management processes.
- A portfolio demonstrating content you personally planned and produced.
- Ideally, prior customer relationship management or sales experience.
- Ideally, experience with digital advertising optimisation, such as google ads.
- Ideally, experience with search engine optimisation.
Experience marketing professional services, technology, engineering, design, manufacturing, medical devices or B2B services would be highly regarded.
