Role Description The Disability Support Worker is responsible for providing person-centered support to individuals with disability in an on-site setting located in Adelaide, SA.

This casual role involves assisting with daily living activities, such as personal care, meal preparation, and household tasks, while promoting independence and dignity.

The role includes supporting individuals to access the community, attend appointments, participate in social and recreational activities, and maintain positive relationships. Day-to-day tasks also involve following support plans, monitoring wellbeing, documenting observations, and communicating effectively with families, carers, and other professionals.

The Disability Support Worker will contribute to a safe, inclusive environment by upholding professional boundaries, safeguarding practices, and the values of respect, compassion, and empowerment.

Qualifications

Ability to provide

- person-centered support, daily living assistance, and promoting independence.
- Strong clear communication is absolutely necessary.




- relationship-building, and active listening skills to work effectively with individuals, families, and colleagues.
- Ability to manage challenging situations with resilience, problem-solving, and sound judgment.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe workplace, including awareness of safeguarding, privacy, and professional boundaries.
- Relevant qualification in disability support, community services, or a related field (or working toward such qualifications).
- Experience in disability services or community support settings is benefitial but not compulsary.
- Current first aid and CPR certification, or willingness to obtain.
- Valid driver’s licence, registered, road worthy vehicle with comprehensive insurance and willingness to use personal car to travel & transport participants locally as required.
- Ability to work on-site in Adelaide, SA, with flexibility in shifts, including evenings and weekends where agreed
- Compliance with any required background checks or clearances in line with local regulations.
