Male Support Worker – Join Our Quirky Team!
We are looking for a reliable, energetic and compassionate male Support Worker to join our quirky and supportive team. This role would suit someone who enjoys working one-on-one with clients, getting out into the community and making a genuine difference in someone's day-to-day life.
About the Role
The successful applicant will provide support to clients with varying levels of mobility, including clients who use a wheelchair. Support shifts require a strong focus on community access, appointments and day-to-day activities.
Your responsibilities may include
- Supporting community access and outings
- Providing transport and support to appointments
- Assisting with shopping, activities and social participation
- Supporting the client to participate in the community and maintain independence
- Assisting with wheelchair transfers and manual handling
- Providing practical day-to-day support as required
- Building a positive and respectful relationship with the client
- Following individual support plans and workplace procedures
- Maintaining appropriate documentation and communication with the support team
Essential Requirements
To be considered for this role, you will need:
- Male applicant – this is a genuine occupational requirement for the client
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Clearance
- Current Working With Children Check (WWCC)
- Completion of the required 4 NDIS eLearning modules
- Current CPR and First Aid Certificate
- Current open Australian driver's licence
- Reliable and appropriately insured vehicle
- Current vehicle registration
- 100 points of identification
- Previous experience in manual handling, particularly supporting a wheelchair-dependent client
- Physically fit and active, with the ability to safely undertake the manual handling requirements of the role
- A reliable, positive and can-do attitude
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently while also being part of a wider support team

You will need to be comfortable with manual handling and working closely with a wheelchair-dependent client. Support locations are across Moreton Bay Region & surrounding areas including Samsonvale.
