Our client is a fun-loving, family-oriented person who enjoys animals, technology, graphic design and staying active. He is looking for support workers who can encourage him to build confidence, strengthen his everyday life skills and work towards greater independence.
We’re seeking consistent, proactive and reliable support workers who are passionate about helping others live fulfilling lives. If you can bring warmth, encouragement and a sense of fun to each shift while building a genuine, respectful connection, you could be a great match.
What You’ll Do:
- Provide thoughtful, person-centred support both at home and in the community, tailored to his goals, interests and preferred routines.
- Encourage him to build practical everyday life skills, confidence and independence at a pace that feels comfortable and achievable for him.
- Support him to explore his interest in cooking by encouraging safe, enjoyable and skill-building experiences in the kitchen.
- Plan and support meaningful community access shifts that reflect his interests, including walking, staying active, spending time outdoors, exploring nature, airplanes, concerts, sporting events,
travel, gaming, movies and technology.
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience supporting people with mental health needs, with the ability to provide calm, respectful and person-centred support.
- Strong communication skills, a positive attitude and the ability to build trust through consistency, patience and encouragement.
- A genuine commitment to promoting independence, inclusion and choice while bringing warmth and a sense of fun to each shift.
- Someone who enjoys animals, staying active and supporting meaningful community experiences that align with the client’s interests.
To be successful you must…
- Have experience in the disability field, mental health experience is highly desirable
- Resonate with the role description above
- Be a decent, caring and compassionate human who wants to help our nation's most vulnerable
- Have awesome multitasking, prioritising skills with a proactive and problem-solving mindset
- Hold a NDIS Worker Screening Card and Working with Children Blue Card
- Have evidence of eligibility and right to work in Australia
- Have a genuine desire to positively change people's lives
Your key responsibilities & accountabilities…
- To deliver high-quality support to our clients in the capacity they require, the exact way they would like it delivered
- Communicate effectively and collaborate for our clients' needs with our clients, team & Support Specialist
- Understand, follow instructions,
and be responsive to our clients' needs
- Provide support to our clients as required
- To support our clients to achieve their NDIS Goals
- Have good rapport building skills and a gentle, encouraging manner
- Have an interest in building a respectful relationship with our clients
- Be reliable, flexible and responsive to fill shifts when required
