An exciting opportunity has come up for an experienced Document Controller to join a leading Tier 1 developer builder with a strong track record across some of Sydney’s most high-profile residential, mixed-use and lifestyle developments.
The business has been operating in Australia for more than a decade and has built a strong reputation for delivering high-quality, design-led projects. With a growing pipeline of major developments across Sydney, this is a great chance to join an established business with a strong project portfolio and a high-performing internal team.
The Project
The role will sit within the project team delivering a major mixed-use development in Sydney CBD. The project will transform a significant waterfront site into a new lifestyle destination incorporating residential, retail, hospitality and community uses, alongside extensive public open space and public domain works.
Due to the scale and complexity of the project means there will be a significant volume of documentation and stakeholder coordination across the lifecycle.
The Role
As Document Controller, you’ll play an important role in keeping the project documentation organised, accurate and moving between the right people.
You’ll be responsible for
- Managing and maintaining project documentation and registers
- Controlling the distribution, review and approval of project documents
- Managing document workflows and version control
- Ensuring documentation is accurately filed and maintained
- Coordinating documentation between internal teams, consultants, subcontractors and clients
- Supporting Project Managers, Engineers and the wider project team
- Maintaining project records in line with company procedures
- Assisting with reporting, audits and general project administration where required
We’re looking for someone who has:
- Previous experience in a Document Control role, ideally within a Tier 1 developer, builder or major project environment
- Experience working across large and complex projects
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills
- The ability to manage high volumes of documentation and competing priorities
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Experience with Plexa or a similar document management system
- Strong Microsoft Office skills
- A proactive, hands-on approach and the ability to work well within a busy project team
This would suit a Document Controller who enjoys being close to the project, likes working in a fast-paced environment and wants exposure to a major project with plenty of moving parts.
