Role Overview:

In this role, you will provide specialist trauma-informed mental health support to women impacted by domestic and family violence. You will deliver counselling, crisis response, and therapeutic case management, while assessing risk and coordinating integrated support to enhance safety, recovery, and wellbeing.

Working within a strengths-based, recovery-oriented, and culturally safe framework, you will support women through client-centered interventions that acknowledge the impacts of trauma, coercive control, and gender-based violence.

What You'll Do:

- Deliver trauma-informed intake, assessment, triage, and crisis response services
- Provide specialist counselling, psychosocial assessment, mental health and suicide risk assessment, and safety planning
- Deliver therapeutic case management and recovery-focused interventions
- Support women with complex mental health and psychosocial needs through evidence-based practices
- Coordinate referrals and collaborate with health, legal, and community services to ensure integrated care




- Provide crisis intervention, advocacy, court support, and practical assistance
- Develop and implement collaborative case plans that prioritise safety and long-term wellbeing
- Maintain accurate, confidential client records and meet reporting requirements

In addition, you will work within the practice principles, standards and guidance for Domestic and Family Violence services.

Qualifications:

Essential:

- Degree qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Social Sciences, or related discipline, and registration/membership (or eligibility for registration) with appropriate professional representative/governing body (i.e., AHPRA; AASW)-or-Diploma of Counselling with registration/membership (or eligibility for registration) with the Australian Counselling Association (ACA).
- Applied knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations, specifically Domestic and Family Violence Protection Act 2012.
- Driver's License.
- Working with Children Check (Blue Card) – or the ability to acquire.
- Current National Police Certificate – or the ability to acquire.

Desirable:

- A good understanding of trauma theory, to inform assessment and decision making.
- Sound understanding and knowledge of QLD Child Protection system and relevant legislation including the Child Protection Act 1999.
- Experience working with people who are impacted by mental illness or concerns including anxiety, depression, trauma-related conditions, or complex psychosocial needs.
- A dedication to continually increase knowledge and skills to ensure the provision of cultural, gender and age-appropriate services to clients
