The position of Electrical and Controls Systems Engineer will be a key member of the team responsible for developing, and executing as appropriate, the development and implementation of controls systems supplied by Contech Engineering to our clients. The role is diverse and will involve elements of design and project management, hands on programming, and equipment commissioning.
Responsibilities
As a member of the Controls System Team, your responsibilities will include:
- Overseeing the Electrical build phase, Control Systems development, and commissioning of nominated projects, and ensuring successful handover of these projects to the end-user.
- Liaising and proactively working with all company, key contractor, and project stake holders.
- Sourcing and trialling recent technology and supplier opportunities when appropriate.
- Reviewing and ensuring Electrical and Control compliance to statutory and client / project specifications.
- Assisting with Electrical and Controls quotations for nominated projects and enquiries.
- Being proactive in driving the continuous improvement of Contech Engineering's supply standards and project build efficiency.
- Development of, and / or overseeing development of, electrical schematics for nominated projects,
- Development of,
and / or overseeing development of control logic for nominated projects.
- Ensuring adherence to key project milestones.
In meeting these responsibilities, you will be required to:
- Work both autonomously and as part of a team as required.
- Travel both interstate and overseas as required (an estimated 30% of work will be on site).
Qualifications and Experience The successful applicant will likely be degree qualified (ideally electrical, mechatronics or similar) or may have come from a Trades background. They must have significant experience developing and commissioning complex materials handling systems.
They must have extensive experience with Rockwell Automation and Siemens platforms.
They must have extensive experience with motion control solutions for applications relating to highspeed positioning, tracking, coordinated motion.
They must have experience with product detection systems including code reading and vision applications.
Ideally they will have SCADA and MES integration experience.
Ideally they will have TUV Machine Safety certification.
Ideally they would have experience integrating industrial robots.
