Ready to swap the tools for a role where your electrical experience can open doors for the next generation?

NECA Education & Careers is looking for a licensed electrician who enjoys working with people, building industry relationships and helping apprentices succeed.

This is not your typical desk job. You’ll be out meeting electrical contractors, visiting worksites, attending industry events and supporting apprentices as they build their careers. You’ll also help grow our network of host employers and create new apprenticeship opportunities across Tasmania.

Why this role is different

- Stay connected to the electrical industry without being on the tools every day
- Get out and about visiting contractors, apprentices and worksites
- Mentor the next generation of electrical workers
- Build relationships and create genuine employment opportunities
- Enjoy variety—no two days will look quite the same
- Use your industry knowledge in a recent and rewarding direction

What you’ll be doing

You’ll manage a caseload of apprentices and trainees while developing strong relationships with current and prospective host employers.

Your days will include

- Visiting apprentices and host employers across Tasmania
- Mentoring apprentices through the challenges and milestones of their training
- Helping employers plan for their future workforce needs
- Finding new host employers and apprenticeship opportunities
- Matching apprentices with suitable workplaces
- Conducting site visits and safety checks

What you’ll bring

You don’t need to come from recruitment or group training—we’re interested in the industry knowledge,

relationships and practical experience you’ve built throughout your electrical career. Ideally, you will have:
- A current electrical license
- A current drivers license
- Strong knowledge of the electrical industry and workplace safety
- Experience mentoring, supervising or developing apprentices or other team members
- Confidence building relationships with contractors and industry stakeholders
- A natural ability to start conversations and identify business opportunities
- Strong organisation and problem-solving skills

Experience in business development, account management, group training or the vocational education sector will be highly regarded. A Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or Work Health and Safety would also be an advantage but is not essential.

About NECA Education & Careers

We work closely with the electrical industry to recruit, employ, develop and support apprentices and trainees. Our purpose is to inspire excellence by setting the benchmark and showing what is possible when industry takes ownership of its future. Ready to try something different?

If you’re looking for a career change that keeps you connected to the electrical industry while allowing you to make a real difference, we’d like to hear from you. Apply through SEEK with your résumé and a brief cover letter telling us why this opportunity appeals to you.

Please note: The successful applicant will be required to maintain a current electrical license and driver license and obtain any relevant employment screening checks required for the role.
