About the role The Employment Mentor – All-Rounder is a hands-on position supporting people with disability to successfully participate in meaningful employment across HPA's business operations. This role is suited to someone who is practical, adaptable and confident working across different environments, with the ability to provide both employment mentoring and operational support. The successful applicant will work alongside supported employees to develop workplace skills, encourage independence, maintain productivity and ensure work is completed safely and to the required commercial standard.

The position may work across AusDesigns, Breaking Ground, Kokoda Workshop, Shredding and other HPA business areas as operational requirements change.

Key responsibilities

- Provide person-centred employment support to supported employees in accordance with individual goals and support requirements
- Develop positive and professional working relationships with supported employees
- Provide practical coaching, instruction and encouragement to develop workplace skills
- Support individuals to build confidence, independence and work capacity
- Break tasks down into achievable steps and provide appropriate levels of assistance
- Encourage supported employees to make choices and take ownership of their work
- Identify individual strengths, abilities and areas for further development
- Support employees to develop appropriate workplace behaviours,



communication and teamwork skills
- Monitor workplace activities and ensure supported employees are appropriately supported throughout the workday
- Monitor work quality, productivity and safety

About you

- Experience working with people with disability, preferably within supported employment, disability services, community services or a similar environment
- Practical hands-on skills and the ability to confidently work across different commercial environments
- The ability to mentor, coach and support people to develop workplace skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- The ability to follow instructions and provide clear instructions to supported employees
- A strong understanding of person-centred practice
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- A reliable, adaptable and positive approach to work
- A current NT C Class Driver Licence
