A national civil construction contractor with a significant industry presence is seeking an experienced Civil Estimator to join their Melbourne team. With a long history delivering complex civil works for landmark projects across Australia — including commercial, industrial, education, high‑rise residential, energy infrastructure, prisons, and major public infrastructure — the business continues to expand its Victorian operations and is strengthening its estimating capability.

This opportunity is open to both experienced Estimators and junior Estimators looking to develop within a high‑performing team.

Role Overview

As a Civil Estimator, you will play a critical role in securing new work and supporting the successful delivery of major civil projects.

Your responsibilities will include

- Developing strong relationships with clients, consultants and subcontractors
- Completing project scoping, material take‑offs and quantity assessments
- Pricing materials, labour, plant, and subcontractor packages
- Managing consultant and supplier engagement throughout the tender process
- Identifying and mitigating project risks
- Supporting the programming of works and interpreting contractual requirements
- Reviewing and developing tender alternatives and value‑engineering options




- Preparing detailed tender submissions and supporting bid strategy
- Coordinating procurement and subcontractor pricing once tenders are secured

This role is integral to the business’ continued success, and they are seeking someone committed to a long‑term career in civil estimating. Background & ExperienceTo be successful, you will bring:

- Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering
- A secure employment history with proven experience in civil estimating
- Experience pricing a range of civil scopes including earthworks, structures, concrete, roads, services, drainage, and associated infrastructure
- Strong analytical capability and attention to detail
- Ability to read and interpret civil drawings, specifications and technical documentation
- High‑level communication and stakeholder management skills
- A genuine interest in building a long‑term career within a major civil contractor
