Our client is a leading civil engineering and construction contractor based in Western Sydney, specialising in high-quality early works projects across the residential and commercial sectors.

Due to continued growth, we are looking for an experienced and professional Excavation & Earthworks Site Supervisor / Foreman to join the team.

This is a hands-on site leadership position for someone who understands the demands of excavation and earthworks and is confident coordinating crews, subcontractors, plant and daily site activities. You will work closely with the Director and Project Manager to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to a high standard.

The role will involve working Monday to Saturday, with the successful candidate expected to take ownership of daily site operations and lead the team by example.

Key Responsibilities

- Supervise and coordinate site teams, subcontractors, plant and operators.
- Manage daily site activities and ensure tasks are clearly communicated and completed efficiently.
- Conduct and manage daily toolbox talks, pre-starts, site inductions and safety briefings.
- Plan and coordinate excavation and earthworks activities.
- Supervise basement excavation and preparation across multiple levels.
- Coordinate shoring, anchoring and shotcrete works.
- Oversee foundation preparation, footings and associated civil works.
- Coordinate plant, machinery, materials and labour to maintain productivity.
- Interpret drawings, specifications and project documentation.
- Ensure works are completed in accordance with project requirements and programme.
- Liaise with Project Managers, engineers, surveyors, clients and subcontractors.
- Monitor WHS,



environmental and quality requirements.
- Manage SWMS, ITPs, site records and other project documentation.
- Identify potential risks, delays and site issues and implement practical solutions.
- Monitor daily progress and provide clear updates to management.
- Maintain a professional and productive site environment.
- Ensure teams maintain high standards of workmanship, communication and safety.

About You We are looking for someone who is confident taking ownership of a site and leading a team in a demanding civil construction environment.

You will ideally have

- Proven experience as a Civil Site Supervisor, Foreman or Senior Leading Hand.
- Strong experience across excavation and earthworks.
- Proven experience supervising basement excavation and foundation preparation.
- Practical experience with shoring, anchoring and shotcrete.
- Experience coordinating plant, machinery, operators and subcontractors.
- Strong understanding of construction sequencing and site operations.
- Ability to read and interpret civil/structural drawings and specifications.
- Strong WHS knowledge and experience managing toolbox talks and site safety.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Professional presentation and a strong work ethic.




- Ability to identify problems early and implement practical solutions.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Valid driver's licence and White Card.
- Diploma in Construction Management or Project Management would be highly regarded.

You will be expected to work closely with your operators and subcontractors, clearly communicate daily priorities, keep the team motivated and accountable, and ensure everyone understands what needs to be achieved.

Professionalism is important. You will be representing the business on-site and will need to build strong working relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors and internal management.
