We are a growing fabrication workshop looking for an experienced Leading Hand/Fabricator to join our team.

This role is ideal for an experienced fabricator who has developed strong trade skills and is now ready to take the next step in their career. If you're looking to move beyond a purely fabrication-focused position and into a leadership role, this could be the opportunity for you.

This is a hands-on position that combines both fabrication and supervisory responsibilities. You'll continue working on the tools alongside the team while also helping to coordinate workflow, maintain quality standards, and support day-to-day workshop operations.

We are looking for someone who enjoys leading by example—not just supervising from the sidelines. You’ll play a key role in ensuring jobs are completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard while mentoring and supporting other team members.

About the Role

You will be responsible for:

- Supervising and supporting workshop staff

- Checking quality of completed work

- Monitor workflow and adjust priorities to keep output on track





- Ensuring all fabrication work is completed correctly and efficiently

- Reading and interpreting drawings

- Welding and fabricating as part of the day-to-day workload

- Maintaining workshop organisation and productivity

- Helping create a positive and motivated team environment

What We’re Looking For

- Previous experience in a supervisory or leading hand role

- Certificate in III in Engineering – Fabrication

- Strong welding and fabrication experience

- Ability to read and work from fabrication drawings

- High attention to detail and quality control

- Valuable time management and organisational skills

- Reliable, hardworking, and able to lead by example

- Forklift ticket (preferred but not essential)
