JJ Care Services

Gymea Bay

Are you an experienced accounts professional looking for a role where you can take genuine ownership of the entire finance function and become a trusted part of a growing organisation?

JJ Care Services is a boutique provider of quality, responsive and personalised care and support services. We are nurse-owned and nurse-led, and we back that up with a team of skilled, passionate people who genuinely like working together.

Through JJ Care and JJ Home Health, we provide disability, nursing and complex care services across Supported Independent Living, residential respite and community-based care.

As we continue to grow, we are bringing our bookkeeping, accounts and payroll functions in-house. We are looking for an experienced, highly organised and approachable Accounts & Payroll Manager who can keep the numbers accurate, the systems moving and our employees, clients and suppliers well supported.

ABOUT THE ROLE

This is a newly created, broad and hands-on role with responsibility for the day-to-day financial administration of the organisation.

You will manage everything from bills, invoicing and payroll through to reconciliations, budgets and management reporting. You will be the trusted point of contact for employee payroll enquiries, client and funding-related billing questions, supplier accounts and general financial administration.

This is not a role where you will only process transactions. You will take ownership of the function, identify discrepancies before they become problems, improve our systems and processes, and provide management with transparent and reliable financial information.

You will work closely with our Director, Operations Manager, Care Partners, Workforce Planner and external accountant.

The role is a part time, 0.5FTE role being 3 days one week and 2 days the next, with some flexibility to accommodate school hours or the like. You must be available every Monday and alternate Tuesdays. This is an office-based role, based from our offices in Gymea Bay.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

- Manage end-to-end accounts payable, including entering bills, reconciling supplier statements, preparing payment runs and responding to supplier enquiries
- Manage accounts receivable, including preparing and issuing invoices,

processing NDIS and private billing, reconciling payments and following up outstanding accounts
- Process end-to-end payroll including superannuation accurately and on time
- Review timesheets, allowances, leave, penalties and other payroll information before each pay run
- Respond to employee payroll enquiries
- Maintain employee payroll records and coordinate superannuation, payroll reporting and other regular obligations
- Manage client, family, plan manager and funding-related billing enquiries
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, receipts, expenses and financial transactions
- Maintain accurate financial records and ensure supporting documents and receipts are appropriately captured and stored
- Assist with cash-flow management, budgeting, forecasting and financial planning
- Prepare regular management reports that provide a clear picture of income, expenditure, payroll and business performance
- Support month-end and year-end processes and work collaboratively with our external accountant
- Maintain strong financial controls, confidentiality and accurate recordkeeping
- Review and improve accounts, payroll and billing processes as the organisation continues to grow
- Be the person who notices when something does not look right, investigates it and follows it through to resolution

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

- Demonstrated experience in a broad bookkeeping, accounts or finance role
- Strong end-to-end payroll experience within an Australian workplace
- Experience managing accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations and financial reporting
- A sound understanding of Australian payroll requirements, including superannuation, leave, allowances and award-based employment
- Exceptional attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing deadlines

- Confidence investigating discrepancies and following matters through until they are resolved
- The ability to explain payroll and billing matters clearly to employees, clients and other stakeholders
- Discretion and sound judgement when handling confidential employee, client and financial information
- Confidence using accounting, payroll and workforce management software, - specifically Xero, Employment Hero and ShiftCare
- A collaborative, approachable style and a willingness to become part of the broader operational team
- The ability to work independently, take ownership and build structure within a growing organisation

Experience with the SCHADS Award, NDIS billing or the disability, aged care, health or community services sectors will be highly regarded. BAS Agent registration or a bookkeeping/accounting qualification is desirable; however, demonstrated experience, capability and ownership are most important to us.

WHY JOIN US?

When you join JJ Care Services, you will become part of a supportive team that values its people as much as the people we support.
