About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Water Polo Head Coach & Coordinator to lead, grow and manage our established Water Polo program across the Primary and Secondary School as a full-time, full-year position. Reporting to the Director of Sport, you will set the technical and tactical direction for the program, personally coach our senior and/or representative teams, and oversee the program's day-to-day operation and strategic direction – including the recruitment and mentoring of year level coaches, season planning and budgeting, and our ongoing involvement in Water Polo Queensland competitions and pathways.

What You’ll Do:

- Provide strategic leadership and day-to-day management of the Primary and Secondary Water Polo program, including season planning, budgeting and long-term development.
- Personally coach the College's senior and/or representative team(s), including pool-side session delivery.
- Design and implement a consistent coaching curriculum and technical/tactical framework across all year levels.
- Recruit, mentor and manage the performance of year level coaches and team managers, in collaboration with the Director of Sport.
- Coordinate and communicate training, trials, gala days and fixtures to students, parents and staff.




- Act as the College's primary liaison with Water Polo Queensland and other relevant associations.
- Manage the program budget, uniforms, sponsorship opportunities and promotion of the program.
- Plan and coordinate tours, development squads and representative pathways.
- With the support of the People and Culture team, ensure all coaching staff and volunteers meet Blue Card, Child Safe Organisations Act 2024 and WHS requirements.

What You Bring:

You will be a strategic, hands‑on leader who coaches by example, and you will bring:

- Demonstrated ability to coach at a high level, with strong technical knowledge of skills, tactics and athlete development.
- Recognised coaching accreditation (Water Polo Australia/Water Polo Queensland highly regarded) and/or significant experience in Water Polo, with strong knowledge of WPQ competition structures and pathways.
- Demonstrated experience leading and managing a sporting or co‑curricular program, including recruiting and managing coaching staff, ideally within a school or club environment.
- Well‑developed budgeting and financial administration skills.
- High‑level interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, staff and external sporting bodies.
- Sound understanding of child safety obligations, Working with Children (Blue Card) requirements and WHS legislation.
- You will also hold, or be willing to obtain, a current Blue Card, current CPR certificate (First Aid desirable) and a current Australian driver's licence.
