We are seeking experienced and motivated Diesel Fitters to join our maintenance team at Blair Athol Coal Mine.

If you enjoy working on large mining equipment, solving mechanical problems and being part of a maintenance team that takes pride in keeping the operation moving, this is an opportunity worth considering.

Working across a diverse fleet of heavy mobile equipment, including excavators, trucks, loaders, graders, dozers and dragline support equipment,



you will play an important role in ensuring our equipment remains safe, reliable and available for production.

This is a hands on role for Diesel Fitters who take pride in their trade, work well as part of a team and want to make a genuine contribution to equipment performance.

The Opportunity

As a Diesel Fitter at Blair Athol, you will undertake planned maintenance, servicing, breakdown repairs, fault finding and component change outs across our heavy mining fleet.

You will work closely with maintenance supervisors, planners, operators and other trades to identify issues, minimise downtime and ensure maintenance activities are completed safely and efficiently.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Carrying out scheduled servicing, preventative maintenance and breakdown repairs across heavy mobile mining equipment

- Performing maintenance and repairs on excavators, trucks, loaders, graders, dozers and dragline support equipment

- Completing fault finding and diagnostics across mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems

- Undertaking component change outs and major repair activities as required

- Supporting maintenance activities on large excavators and dragline auxiliary systems, including hydraulic and lubrication systems

- Conducting equipment inspections and identifying defects before they impact safety or production

- Working closely with maintenance planners and operational teams to maximise equipment availability and reliability

- Completing work orders, service records and defect reporting accurately

- Participating in pre start meetings, toolbox discussions and safety initiatives

- Ensuring all work is completed in accordance with TerraCom safety, environmental and quality standards

- Identifying opportunities to improve equipment reliability, maintenance practices and overall fleet performance

About You





You are a skilled Diesel Fitter who takes pride in doing the job properly and understands the importance of reliable equipment in a mining environment.

You are practical, safety focused and comfortable working as part of a team in a busy production environment.

You will bring:

- Relevant Diesel Fitting or Heavy Vehicle trade qualifications

- Experience maintaining heavy mobile mining equipment

- Experience working on large excavators, dozers, trucks, loaders, graders or dragline support equipment

- Strong mechanical, hydraulic and diagnostic capability

- Sound fault finding and problem solving skills

- A practical approach to breakdowns and maintenance challenges

- A strong commitment to safety and quality workmanship

- Valuable communication skills and the ability to work effectively with operators, supervisors and other trades

- A positive attitude and willingness to contribute to a strong team culture

- A focus on equipment reliability, productivity and continuous improvement
