The Role

Play a key role in establishing a standalone Australian finance function following a major acquisition, with significant exposure to finance transformation, systems implementation and controllership.

This position offers a rare opportunity to help establish and shape a standalone Australian finance function within a global technology organisation. The role has been created following a significant acquisition and will be instrumental in supporting the transition from a highly centralised shared services setting to a locally managed finance function. During the first 6-12 months, you will play a critical role in establishing processes, implementing systems, supporting separation activities and ensuring the business operates effectively through a period of change.

The successful candidate will need to be comfortable rolling up their sleeves and taking ownership across a broad range of finance activities, whilst helping build the foundations for the future finance team.

Key Responsibilities Initial Transition & Build Phase

- Support finance transition and business separation activities
- Manage treasury, banking and cash management processes
- Oversee payroll activities and related compliance requirements
- Lead month-end and quarter-end reporting activities
- Support ERP implementation planning, testing and process design
- Establish finance controls, reporting frameworks and governance processes
- Assist in transitioning key finance responsibilities from shared services to local ownership
- Work closely with senior leadership to build scalable finance processes and ways of working

Ongoing Accounting Manager Responsibilities

- Lead end-to-end financial accounting and reporting activities
- Own monthly, quarterly and annual close processes
- Maintain balance sheet integrity and financial controls
- Manage statutory reporting, audit and compliance requirements
- Oversee treasury,



working capital and cash flow management
- Lead process improvement and systems optimisation initiatives
- Support and develop local and offshore finance resources as the team evolves

Skills

You are a technically strong finance professional who enjoys operating in environments undergoing change. You thrive in situations where there is ambiguity, enjoy solving problems and are motivated by the opportunity to build processes, systems and structure from the ground up.

You combine strong technical accounting capability with a practical, low-ego approach and are comfortable moving between strategic priorities and hands‑on operational responsibilities. Experience supporting acquisitions, integrations, business separations or finance transformation initiatives will be highly regarded.

Qualifications & Experience

- CA or CPA qualified
- Strong background in financial accounting, controllership and statutory reporting
- Experience working within multinational, technology, infrastructure or shared services environments
- Exposure to acquisitions, integrations, carve-outs or finance transformation projects advantageous
- Experience across treasury, payroll oversight, compliance and financial controls
- Strong ERP capability, with NetSuite experience highly regarded
- Advanced Excel and financial systems skills
