About the role

Skill Hire is looking for an experienced Fire Sprinkler Fitter / Fire Protection tradesperson to join our training team as a Fire Protection Trainer & Assessor, supporting the delivery of CPC32820 Certificate III in Fire Protection. This is a hands-on trade training role where you'll demonstrate skills, coach apprentices, supervise practical activities, assess competency and share the knowledge you've built throughout your career.

Key responsibilities

- Deliver practical and theory-based training to fire protection apprentices undertaking CPC32820 Certificate III in Fire Protection

- Demonstrate and teach contemporary sprinkler fitting and fire protection installation practices

- Coach and mentor apprentices as they progress through their trade qualification

- Conduct practical and knowledge-based assessments in accordance with nationally recognised training requirements

- Provide clear, constructive feedback to apprentices and support their development

- Work with employers and industry representatives to ensure training remains relevant to current workplace practices

- Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of training and assessment resources

- Maintain a secure, professional and industry-focused workshop environment

- Maintain your own industry currency and professional development

- Work collaboratively with Skill Hire's plumbing, construction, administration and student-support teams

About you





- A recognised trade qualification in Fire Protection / Sprinkler Fitting, preferably CPC32820 Certificate III in Fire Protection or an equivalent predecessor qualification.

- Candidates holding a plumbing trade qualification with current experience in Fire Protection / Sprinkler Fitting will also be strongly considered.

- Strong hands-on experience working within the fire protection industry

- Broad experience in the installation, testing, servicing and maintenance of fire sprinkler and associated wet fire protection systems
- A strong understanding of safe work practices and current industry standards
- The ability to explain technical concepts and practical tasks clearly to apprentices

- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- A genuine interest in mentoring and developing the next generation of tradespeople

- Basic computer skills and the willingness to work with electronic student and training systems
- A current National Police Clearance, or the ability to obtain one prior to commencement.

- A current driver's licence
- A Working with Children Check, or willingness to obtain one
