About the role

This role involves carrying out commercial and civil formwork, including slabs, footings, walls, columns, beams, stairs and other structural concrete works. You will read and work from construction and structural drawings, set out, erect, brace and strip formwork accurately, install reinforcement, dowels, cast-ins and construction joints where required, and place, screed and finish concrete to the required standard. You will work safely and efficiently as part of a concreting crew, maintaining a high standard of workmanship and productivity.

Key responsibilities

- Carry out commercial and civil formwork, including slabs, footings, walls, columns, beams, stairs and other structural concrete works

- Read and work from construction and structural drawings

- Set out, erect, brace and strip formwork accurately

- Install reinforcement, dowels, cast-ins and construction joints where required

- Place, screed and finish concrete to the required standard

- Work safely and efficiently as part of a concreting crew





- Maintain a high standard of workmanship and productivity

- Assist with general concrete preparation and site works as required

- Follow site safety requirements, SWMS and supervisor instructions

About you

- Minimum 5 years' proven experience in formwork and/or commercial concreting

- Demonstrated experience on commercial or civil construction projects

- Ability to work independently without requiring constant supervision

- Solid understanding of formwork construction, levels, line and accurate finishes

- Current White Card

- Current driver's licence and reliable transport

- Own basic hand tools preferred

- Physically capable of performing normal formwork and concreting duties

- Reliable, punctual and willing to work as part of a team

- Must be available for ongoing work in the Cairns/Far North Queensland region
