Job Summary The Frontend Developer is responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining responsive and user-friendly web applications and digital interfaces. The role works closely with UI/UX designers, backend developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality, accessible, secure, and performant user experiences.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop responsive and interactive web applications using contemporary frontend technologies.
- Build user interfaces using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript, and modern frameworks.
- Develop applications using frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue.js.
- Translate UI/UX designs and wireframes into functional web interfaces.
- Ensure websites and applications are responsive across desktop, tablet, and mobile devices.
- Integrate frontend applications with RESTful APIs and backend services.
- Write clean, reusable, maintainable, and well-documented code.
- Conduct unit, integration, cross-browser, and user-interface testing.
- Identify and resolve performance, usability, compatibility, and technical issues.
- Optimise websites for speed, accessibility, SEO, and overall user experience.
- Collaborate with backend developers to ensure effective API and system integration.
- Participate in code reviews and follow software development best practices.
- Use Git and version-control systems to manage source code.
- Work with DevOps teams to support CI/CD and application deployment.
- Maintain technical documentation and contribute to development standards.
- Participate in Agile/Scrum meetings, sprint planning, and product discussions.
- Stay updated with emerging frontend technologies, frameworks, and industry best practices.

Requirements




- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Proven experience as a Frontend Developer or Software Developer.
- Strong proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
- Experience with React, Angular, Vue.js, or another modern frontend framework.
- Understanding of responsive and mobile-first web development.
- Experience integrating REST APIs and third-party services.
- Familiarity with Git and version-control workflows.
- Understanding of web accessibility, browser compatibility, and frontend security.
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
- Good understanding of UI/UX principles.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Skills
- Experience with React.js, Next.js, Angular, Vue.js, or similar frameworks.
- Knowledge of state-management libraries such as Redux, Zustand, or NgRx.
- Experience with automated testing tools such as Jest, Cypress, or Playwright.
- Familiarity with Docker, CI/CD, and cloud-based development environments.
- Knowledge of web performance optimisation and SEO.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum development teams.
- Understanding of Australian accessibility and digital-service standards.
- Australian work rights or an appropriate Australian work visa.
