What is aged care hospitality?

Firstly, we're talking about residential aged care facilities with established food service operations and commercial kitchens.

You won't be wandering into someone's private house wondering where they keep the chopping boards.

These are professional facilities catering for residents every day.

Depending on your role, you'll work alongside kitchen staff, hospitality teams, carers, nurses and other facility employees.

Food Service Assistants The FSAs are usually the people keeping approximately seventeen things moving at once.

Your shift may include

- Meal preparation

- Plating meals

- Meal and beverage service

- Dining room preparation

- Clearing dining areas

- Dishwashing

- Kitchen cleaning

- Preparing snacks and refreshments

- Supporting Chefs and Cooks

- Following food safety requirements

- Following individual dietary instructions

- Assisting with texture-modified meals

If you're quick, organised and willing to help rather than standing around waiting for somebody to point at something...

We'll probably get along.

Chefs & Cooks





We're looking for kitchen professionals who know what they're doing and care about what they're serving.

Depending on the position, your responsibilities may include:

- Preparing breakfast, lunch and dinner services

- Cooking from facility menus

- Catering for allergies and special diets

- Preparing texture-modified meals

- Food preparation

- Food safety and hygiene

- Stock management

- Coordinating kitchen workflows

- Supporting FSAs

- Keeping meal services running on time

You may already have aged care experience.

Excellent.

Maybe you've worked in hospitals, catering, pubs, hotels, restaurants or large commercial kitchens.

Also worth talking to us.

Why aged care?

For residents, meals are often one of the biggest parts of the day.

They know what they like.

They know how they take their tea.

And they definitely know if Tuesday's dessert isn't as good as last Tuesday's dessert.

The work requires attention to detail, but it also needs people who are friendly, patient and understand they're part of a much bigger care environment.
